Tiger Shark is considered as one of the top predators in the ocean. They got their name ‘Tiger’ from the grey stripes that you can see on their long body. As the name represent, Tiger Shark will eat just about anything, from smaller to bigger fishes, sea turtle, marine mammals and many more. Fuvahmulah is the only place in Maldives where you can dive and get close to tiger shark. Tiger Shark in Fuvahmulah is much calm to be around divers, due to its feeding station behavior. Even so we should never look down at this apex predator, as they are still in their wild habitat, and we will always be extra careful while diving with them. Tiger shark can grow up to 5.5m long with 900kg! Also, they live mostly in shallow water and sometimes dive deep, which makes Fuvahmulah a good spot for them!
